Delete your account and data
You can permanently delete your account at any time, directly in the app:
- Open You What? and go to the Profile tab
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account to expand it
- Tap the Delete account button that appears
- Confirm the deletion twice to make sure it isn't accidental
What happens when you delete your account:
- Deletion is immediate and permanent. There's no grace period and no way to recover your account afterward.
- Your profile, votes and predictions are deleted, and you are removed from any leagues you currently belong to.
- If you created a league, it remains for the other members but is no longer linked to you.
- Your final position and summary statistics may remain in completed-season leaderboards and league tables to preserve the historical standings. Your username is replaced with “Deleted user”, and no profile information is shown with the entry.
- Copies may persist briefly in service provider logs before being overwritten.
Can't complete these steps yourself — for example, you've lost your device or can't log in? Email support@youwhat.app and we'll process the deletion request manually. We'll need to verify that you own the account before processing it. Requests are processed within 30 days.
